THE HANSE HERNIA CENTRE

The centre was founded by Dr. H. Niebuhr and Prof. M. Sailer as a joint project of the Hanse Surgery and the Bethesda AK Bergedorf in 2007. It is capable of concentrated, specialised diagnostics and treatment of all inguinal, abdominal, incisional, umbilical and hiatus hernias.
The Hanse Hernia Centre provides an exceptional level of quality due to various factors: the doctors’ many years of experience (high-volume surgeons with more than 600 hernia operations carried out personally each year), internal and external quality assurance (DIN EN ISO 9001:2000) plus ongoing scientific analysis of the operation outcomes to optimise the results.

Apart from the latest laparoscopic HDTV technology modern microsurgery techniques are carried out with 2mm instruments. Before every operation the size and position of the hernia is examined using ultrasound as well as the mesh position after the operation has been completed.

You can find Hanse Surgery at four different locations in Hamburg:
Eppendorf, Bergedorf, Eidelstedt and Altona.
