THE PRACTICE FOR RHEUMATOLOGY AND CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGY

offers state-of-the-art medical treatment of auto-immune diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the connective tissue and vessels. Apart from the more than 100 types of joint disorders it also includes the exceptionally rare forms of vasculitis and connective tissue diseases. The practice is a nationwide centre for patient referrals in this regard.

The focus of interest is on early detection of rheumatic diseases. To make early diagnoses, apart from immunological lab parameters, genetic markers information from modern imaging (including joint ultrasound) are also used. Of prognostic significance apart from early diagnosis is the use of the window-of-opportunity via early deployment of appropriate therapies.

Today it is possible to develop an individual therapy concept for each patient coordinated for any secondary diseases, mobility and individual expectations.

As rheumatological diseases are frequently associated with thyroid gland disorders (e.g. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis), a special thyroid clinic at the practice represents another aspect of comprehensive rheumatological care of patients.
