HAMBURG OSTEOPOROSIS CENTRE | NEUER WALL
This is a very highly regarded special practice for osteoporosis and bone metabolic diseases in northern Germany. Situated in the centre of Hamburg, the Osteoporosis Centre is directed by Dr. Isolde Frieling as a private practice and institute for clinical research along with Prof. Hans-Peter Kruse’s support in scientific and clinical issues.
Patients with osteoporosis are examined, treated and monitored by specialists in tranquil surroundings. Apart from the various forms of osteoporosis the practice focuses on other bone and calcium metabolic disorders such as Paget’s disease of bone, secondary bone diseases with gastrointestinal tract or kidney disorders, vitamin D deficiency and hyper and hypoparathyroidism.
The Hamburg Osteoporosis Centre is one of only four facilities in Germany that has the ability to conduct high-resolution computer tomography of the extremities (x-treme CT). It provides an image resolution of approx. 80µm and enables advanced detection of bone fracture risk. In addition, it is qualified to evaluate the short and long term success of treatment and help in clarifying unclear and discrepant findings.
