Born in Freiburg/Lower Elbe
1961 – 1967: degree course in medicine at the universities of Hamburg and Marburg
1967: licence as a physician and doctorate, University of Hamburg
Until 1967: work at various hospitals in Munich and at Eppendorf University Hospital in Hamburg as an intern
1969 – 1973: specialist training at the University Eye Clinic in Eppendorf
1974: opening of her own ophthalmic practice in Hamburg-Othmarschen
Since 1999: acceptance of private patients only

The opthalmic practice of Dr. Else Ganssauge is situated in one of the western Elbe suburbs and easily reached by train (S-Bahn station Othmarschen), by bus or by car (exit from motorway A7). Treatment is based on findings acquired with the latest equipment and detailed discussion of the resulting diagnosis and therapy, taking a holistic approach where possible. A prominent feature is the treatment of eye disorders in children. |

- RVA = Retinal Vessel Analyzer (static and dynamic analysis of the vessels of the retina)
- Determination of the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke
PAEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGY- In particular babies and premature babies
- Strabology (treatment of squint), PC training for children with poor eyesight
