THE PSYCHOSOMATIC CLINIC north of Hamburg is one of Germanys most important centres of excellence for anxiety states, eating disorders, burn-out and depression, and also pain therapy.
Since it opened in 1993 the clinic has been run by Prof. Detlev O. Nutzinger, who is also professor of psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy at the University of Lübeck.
The therapeutic approach of the Medical-Psychosomatic Clinic in Bad Bramstedt is integrated and behavioural. It treats patients whose symptoms are caused by disturbed physical functions, psychosocial stress and/or chronic diseases and for whom purely medical treatment is not enough. The clinic has a cooperation agreement with the University of Lübeck; this ensures continuous input from the world of teaching and research and the scientific development of modern therapeutic strategies. Like all the Schön Clinics it has been certified according to the quality standard DIN EN ISO 9001: 2002 since 1999.
